Where are the maps?

Park at the side of the road by the Platte Clove Preserve or in the parking area for Kaaterskill High Peak on the other side of the road. Walk down to the king post bridge and follow the trail for a little more than a mile. In this area there will be a bluestone quarry on the left side of the trail. On the right side of the trail the Devil's Path from Prediger Road will join the trail you are on, stay with it for a few hundred feet and then turn right up the east side of Indian Head Mountain. A lean-to will soon appear on the trail. Walk across the front of the lean-to and cross a bridge over a stream. At this point the trail turns from south to southeast. Continue about a mile from the trail junction and you will be at a side trail to the left. This leads to Codfish Point and more quarries with some nice views to the east toward the Hudson. Turn off the trail to the right in this area and follow an old quarry road for about half a mile. Look for views of Indian Head and Kaaterskill High` Peak on your right. At some point turn UP the mountain and walk southwest. The ground will level and then rise again. Walk to the highest point, wander around some and then return the way you came or any other way you fell like. It is a bushwhack. I want to return to try a bushwhack down to Echo Lake or over to Indian Head.
